who we are
In 1991, Elizabeth and family migrated to Canada from the Philippines. BEBEH! as her family and friends fondly called her was a great baker. She had a cake and pastry business back home where she made bespoke tiered cakes and gift baskets filled with pastries and sweets for debutante balls, holidays and special occasions.
Known for her baking, relatives and friends started to request for her delicious creations. One of them is “SIOPAO” that made her mark in Calgary. Siopao is a soft pillowy steamed bun with sweet and savoury pork filling. As word got out, Filipinos from the community started to request for her tasty creation as Filipino stores started to sell her Siopao.
In 2017, PAO came into fruition and we picked up her recipe by adding a modern twist to it. Sadly, Elizabeth unexpectedly passed away in 2018 and we decided to continue her legacy of making Siopao. Our Mom always made these with love the traditional way, now we are making them with a modern twist.
